Yan Hui – Founder, CEO

Yan has extensive experience in leading engineering development, managing R&D organization and budgets, and working with business development, and marketing teams. He established and managed 3G advanced R&D group at TI to successfuly develop core system IPs for 3G UMTS products, including UMTS, HSDPA and HSUPA. He has led the technical team in developing industry’s first 1xEV-DV UE systems by working with partners. He has been responsible for both project execution and interactions with customers and partners including a key role in partnership for major 3G customers. He also chaired company wide wireless system patent committee and led TI 3G standard activities for a number of years. He also held various management and engineering positions at Nortel and Dot Wireless, He has more than 20 patent granted or pending, and a number of IEEE publications.
Yan has earned a BS degree from Tianjin University, China and a MSEE degree from University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Hanson On – Founder, Vice President of Engineering

Hanson has extensive experience in project execution including leading product development, managing projects, working with customers and building engineering teams. He led advanced R&D team to deliver UMTS HSUPA modem co-processor at Texas Instruments 3G R&D center. In addition, he was a modem architect working with customers to define next generation modem architecture. He led system integration team to work with customers on delivering CDMA2000 products. At Sierra Wireless/AirPrime, he led engineering team to deliver CDMA2000 modules for Palm/Handspring Treo300 and Treo600. At Dot Wireless, he was responsible for CDMA2000 chipset SW design and development. At General Instrument, he and colleagues invented statistic multiplexing algorithms for HD TV uplink satellite transponders. He also held various engineering positions at 3COM/US Robotics.

Ilan Vardi – VP of Product Management & Marketing

Ilan has over 20 years of experience in the telecom sector in various R&D, product management and business development positions. Ilan has held senior management roles for both large organizations such as Nortel Networks, Siemens and ADC, as well as for medium to smaller size companies. Prior to joining AirHop, Ilan was VP of product management at Altobridge, managing the remote communities connectivity solutions using satellite backhaul. At ADC (currently TE Connectivity), Ilan managed the in-building coverage and capacity solutions portfolio, where he was responsible for evolving the legacy cellular product line to an “all IP” architecture. This led to new revenue streams and additional business opportunities with Tier One operators focused on the lucrative enterprise wireless market segment.

Ilan was awarded five patents for innovative enterprise wireless solutions that integrate in-building cellular networks with unified communications systems. He has a BSME degree from Ben Gurion University, Israel and a Masters from the University of Calgary, Alberta.
